My Dream House
I can't help but think about my 8th grade English teacher, Mr. Sawyer. We had to do Jornals in the mornings in his class and one day it was describe your dream house.
I think my entry was the longest in the class. He was so impressed that I had gone into so much detail. I wish I still had that notebook!
I want a big white house with a rap around front porch. I love the old antique look, with all the 21st century technological updates. At least a 2 car garage. Eat in Kitchen, open floor plan, big bedrooms and big bathrooms. Plenty of storage space. But I also want a maid that comes with the house to keep things clean, LOL.
And I want it to be on Rocky Ridge Rd. :/

I wanted to post about this today anyways, so this works out good.
I have known these ladies for a LONG time. I'll go from left to right.
Megan : I've known since 6th grade, and is my best friend.
Heather : I've also known since 6th grade. We played basketball together from 7th-10th grade. She's also a country girl that grew up on a farm. She is a character and LOVe her to death. Her and I were talking last night about how it doesn't matter how long we go without seeing each other (this time it was almost 2 year!!!) when we do see each other, its like no time had gone by. We just picked up where we left off. That is a true friend, and I know she'll always be there for me and always be a friend to me! She currently lives in Concord and is a Health Teacher (And coaches Basketball!).
Lisa : is another bestie. She lives in Phillidelphia and was down visiting. Her hubby, Kevin, is an equiptment manager for Villinova, so they had a baseball game down at Duke. So we all decided to get together for dinner.
Becky : Becky is about 21 weeks pregnant in this picture! She's going to be an awesome mommy! She's such a sweet person with SUCH a kind heart. I love her to death. Don't get to see her as much or as often as I would like. But REALLY enjoy being around her when I do see her! Another person I know I'll always consider a friend and will always be there if I ever needed her.
Marie : I've known Marie since I think 7th grade. I may have known her in 6th grade. But we didn't really become friends until 7th grade I think. She is a dancer and owns her own dance studio now in Hillsborough. She also is a very special lady that I dont' see as much as I would like, but I know she'll always be considered a friend.
This whole group are very close to my heart. I cherish them. We don't get together that often, and not near as often as we would like. But I know, without a shadow of a doubt, that we all consider each other our friends. Regardless. We are all christians, so I feel that commond bond keeps us together. I thank the LORD for putting these ladies in my life!!

What I believe:
The first thing that comes to mind is the Apostle's Creed we used to read in church out of the United Methodist Hymnal:
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord;
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;*
the third day he rose from the dead;
he ascended into heaven,
and sitteth at the right hand of the Father Almighty.
from thence he shall come again to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic** Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.

Other than family, these are my 3 besties.

Lisa I have been friends with since 9th grade. She now lives in Philly, PA, which I HATE, but hopefully that won't be for too much longer. In high school and even college, we were inseperable. BEST friends. LOVE her to death. Can't wait til she moves closer to me!
Kati and I have been friends since the Summer of 2002. We met at ASP in Russell County, VA. It was kinda one of those things that at the time, we didn't realize how it would effect the rest of our lives. But we've been great friends ever since. During college we kept in touch online, and got to gether once in a while. She went to Barton in Wilson, and I was in Greenville, so it was not far away at all! She now lives in South Korea with her Hubby (He's in the Army and stationed there!) I miss her TERRIBLY. We don't talk as much as we both want to. But with the time difference and our crazy schedules, we just don't. But that doesn't make our friendship worth any less to each other. I know without a doubt I will be friends with her (even if it is long distance!) for YEARRSSSS to come! xoxo

I don't know what I would do without this girl. Period. If something is wrong, I've had a bad day, If I need someone to pray for me, she's who I call. If I need advice about anything, she's the one I go to. I can't imagine my life without her as my friend. We went to different High schools and then went to ECU together. We had a little falling out during our Freshman year at ECU. But it was only temporary. We both knew that at the end of the day, we were best friends and there was nothing that would come between us. Love Love Love her.

When I was 15, me, my mom, and my sister went to England to visit Aunt Karen and Uncle Tony. We stay 15 days and traveled around france for 1 week and then around England for the next week. SOOOO much fun.
Here are two picures I have on FB from that trip. I really need to get those in a digital format so I don't lose them forever!
This is me and Amanda at Shakespear's birth place in a town called Stratford Upon Avon in England. This was a cool thing to go see. This was a tiny little english town we went through.

This is in a town called Arundel. There is a castle there and we went to tour the castle. We actually went twice, but the first time it was closed and had to come back. 30 Day Challenge : Day 4
My Parents
I'm so thankful God gave me the parent I have. Or rather, I'm so glad he gave me to them!
Daddy was raised on our farm. He was actually adopted when he was about 18 months old by my grandparents. My Nannie always said she waited 9 months for him, just like any other mother would. My dad doesn't want to know or meet his birth parents, because he had wonderful parents. They loved him just the same. He was raised working on the dairy farm and only held a public job for a few months when they sold out of the business back in the '70s. But they soon bought another heard and got back in the dairy business. From then until 1998, he was a dariy farmer. In the fall of 1998 he got a job at PBM Graphics in the RTP and worked there until 2005 and then got laid off. He's a wonderful man with a HUGE heart. There should be more men like my daddy in the world. Sure he has his flaws, but doesn't everyone!
Mom was raised in Durham, off HWY 54. When she was 9 years old, her Mamma and Daddy opened up a service station and then a Grill. Goodwin's Grill. She worked there the whole time they were open, which I think was 16 years. She met Daddy when she was 16 and Daddy was 23. She's often looked back and thought why in the world her daddy would let her date a 23 year old! They got married when she was 16 and had Amanada when she was 23. I'm currently 25 years old. And I couldn't Imagine being married for 7 years already and already having 2 kids.
I love my parents very much and so thankful they are in my lives!

30 Day Challenge : Day 3
Your First Love
At the time, I thought my high school boyfriend, Shane was my first love. And I really did love him. But no where near how much I love my hubby, Joe.
Joe and I met through a mutual person. I was dating a guy named Kevin Ange (which I only ended up dating him for a few weeks). Joe and Kevin were in a Car Club together, Greenville F-Body Association. Kevin took me to one of the meetings and Joe was there. I didn't really pay him much attention because I was with Kevin and he had a girlfriend. Joe eventually got my AIM screen name from Kevin and we talked online for months. That was in NOvember, that next June, I had to stay at ECU for summer school and Joe had just graduated. At the time, he was still dating Angie. Angie had gone to the beach for the summer, so she wasn't around. Joe and Angie broke up on July 4th and Joe and I started dating soon after. Not that christmas, but the next (2005) we got engaged, and then the following June we got married, June 24th, 2006. We've now been married almost 5 years and have a beautiful baby girl. I could not love him anymore than I do right now.

30 Day Challenge : Day 1
Introduce Yourself, Recent Picture, and 15 Interesting Facts
Hi! I'm Caroline. I'm 25 (26 in April) years young. I am a wife, mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, and best friend. I love spending time with my daughter and would love for nothing more than to be a stay-at-home mom. I do enjoy my work though. My husband and I run a boat dealership on beautiful Lake Gaston.

1) I grew up in Hillsborough, NC. I love hillsborough. I love HOME. Its where my soul is. Where my roots are. Where I'll be burried. Where I came from.
2)I grew up on a Dairy Farm in Hillsborough. Perhaps thats why Hillsborough is so special to me. Because I know of the blood sweat and tears that went into that place. I know how special it is to my dad and my grandparents and how much love and work they put into making it their livelyhood.
3)I married into a family business. Eventho the farm was not a 'public' comapny like the marina is. Being in a family business is like nothing else. There are dynamics that come along with it that are somedays very hard to handle. Because I grew up in a family business, I knew about those dynamics before Joe and I even got married. I knew the bad that comes along with the good.
4)I'm a 'gear-head'. I love cars and motors and stuff like that. I know makes and models of most cars on the roads in the United States. Not too good with forign cars yet. That helps me alot describing boat motors to customers too. And I have to say, its nice when people are impressed by what I know, because they don't typically expect that out of a girl. lol
5)I LOVE being a mom. I told Joe one night not long after we had M.E. that I've waited my whole life for her. As corny as that sounds, its true. As a little girl, I dreamed of MY little girl that I would have some day. And now I have her :)))
6)I am a Studderer and have been my whole life. I went through speech therapy from K-5th grade. Its not as bad as it used to be nor as bad as some people, but its still something that I struggle with on a daily basis.
7)I am a christian. Always have been, always will be. Simple as that.
8)I have wonderful In-Laws. They loves me just as their own daughter and treat me that way. I'm very blessed to have them in my life.

10)I took dance for 13 years growing up and miss it terribly. I hope to get back into it some day soon. Once M.E. is old enough to take dance.
11) I met my hubby at ECU through a mutual person. I have to admit, I really didn't pay him any mind the first time I saw him. He had a girlfriend and I had a boyfriend. Haha. He def. remembers the first time he saw me. He gives me a hard time about not "paying him any mind" that night.
12) I don't love my house. Which is sad and terrible. But when we bought out house, we were planning on staying in it for a few years then selling it. Well, we've been there almost 4 years now, and no signs of moving any time soon. I'd love to build our own house, but that won't happen til we get this one paid for. Which will be ETERNITY!! UGH
13) I'm on Weight Watchers, trying to loose a few lbs. I don't have baby fat to blame it on anymore, because I weigh less than I did when I got pregnant. lol
14) I'm trying to make new friends! I don't have alot of friends up here, therefore, I'm really really trying to meet some new people. Hopefully that will happen soon enough.

13) I'm on Weight Watchers, trying to loose a few lbs. I don't have baby fat to blame it on anymore, because I weigh less than I did when I got pregnant. lol
14) I'm trying to make new friends! I don't have alot of friends up here, therefore, I'm really really trying to meet some new people. Hopefully that will happen soon enough.

Weight Loss
So today, when I logged into Blogger, Several people's last post was about weight loss.
So, I'll jump on the banwagon and post about me trying to lose weight.
{Yes. I will disclose how much I weigh. I really don't care what the number is, only how I feel in that "number"}
When I got pregnant I weighed 164 lbs. That was the day I went to the Dr.'s office to make sure I really was pregnant. When I decided to go back on weight watchers, I weighed 164 lbs. So I havn't gained any weight in the past 2 years, but I've had a baby and my body is just not what it used to be. So, I'm back on Weight Watchers.
This morning I weighed 157.4 lbs. WhooHoo! 6.6 lbs! In about 3 weeks. HAHA. We had the boat show this past weekend, and its always hard during the boat show to eat right. Unfortunatly, I have another boat show next weekend :(
Weight Watchers just re-vamped their points system. Its called Points Plus. I actually like it alot. I have more points, but alot of things are more points value. I can have 29 points a day. BUTTT the good thing about the Points Plus is all fruit is 0 points, most veggies are 0 points.
Before they got their Values on Calories, Total Fat and Fiber. Now, their values are based on Total Fat, Carbs, Fiber and Protein. The carbs is what gets ya.
So in the mornings I typically have a bow of cereal with skim milk. Most cereals are 3 points for 3/4 cup cereal. This week it is Honey Nut Cheerios. Skim Milk (Fat Free) is 2 points for 1 Cup. So I have 5 points in the morning. That leaves me with 24 points for the rest of the day. Lunch I've been having the Lean Cuisine Steamer Bags. They are pretty good! Not gourmet or anything. But they actually keep me full all afternoon. They have 20g of Protein. Protein is what makes you feel full. And what the old folks say "stick to your ribs" longer. haha. I also have a banana, sometimes with lunch, sometimes before or after. I also like that all Diet drinks are 0 points. Of course water is better, but I do love my Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi (I really like both of them!)
Last night we had grilled chicken and corn on the cob for dinner. Joe likes mashed taters. So if he wants that, I'll cook him some, and cook me and M.E. a can of green beans, or corn, or something of that nature. Tonight, I'm going out with a group of girls from church, so hopefully I'll do good.
So the past 2 days, I've done really good. Hopefully I can keep it up. Here is a picture of me today:

Church
Church has always been a very important part of my life. The people who are close to me know this, and even people who arn't close to me may know this. Growing up in my house, Church was not optional. We went to church every sunday and that is just what we did. Union Grove United Methodist Church was part of my life, just like anything else. Just like my family was part of my life, the farm was part of my life, my school was part of my life, Union Grove was also.
I enjoyed going to church. I had friends there. Let me re-phrase that. My friends went there. It wasn't something that mom and dad had to argue with us. Us kids didn't fight going to church. They didn't have to bribe us, or talk us into it. We enjoyed going, and wanted to go to church, to Youth Group, to VBS, etc. I'm very thankful for this. I'm thankful Union Grove is how it is. Which is a vauge statement I'm sure for people who don't go to Union Grove, but Union Grove is a very loving place. A very welcoming place. I've always had a second family there, and still do. After I got my driver's license, I would go over to church before time for Youth Group, or before time for Wednesday night suppers, or whatever, and I knew that someone would be there for me to talk to, or to help out with something else. I didn't have to go when only when my family was there. They were my family.
For 21 years, Union Grove was the only church I attended. Yes, I visited other church occasionally for whatever reason. But Union Grove was the only church I went to on a regular basis. Union Grove is what I've always known. When Joe and I got married, I debated going to his church or not. His church is South Henderson Pentacostal Holiness Church. South Henderson is very different from Union Grove. They are alot more outgoing in their participation of the service. They get alot more 'fired up' during praise and worship and just during the sermon. There is nothing wrong with that, by any means, in my book. I have absolutely no problem with that. But, its just not what I'm used to. Our pastor at Union Grove, Rich Greenway, has a very soft voice at times during his sermon, and really preaches from the heart. Which I love! Pastor Frank (at South Henderson) tends to get on a soap box sometimes with sermons, which is not a bad thing at all! I think he also preaches from the heart, which makes for a good preacher! But just their styles are very different.
I never once doubted the Holy Spirit was at South Henderson. I know its there. I feel it everytime I go. But that wasn't why I wasn't 'sold' on going to South Henderson. For the past 5 years, I've kept South Henderson 'at arm's length'. I've been very torn on making a committment to go to South Henderson. Last week, for some reason it was on my mind alot. We pass South Henderson on the way to and from work, so I thought about it alot last week. Things are different now. I don't only have to look after my own Spiritual well-being, but M.E.'s too.
M.E. goes with Cindy (my mother in law) on the weekends that she keeps M.E. On the weekends my mom has M.E., she takes her to Union Grove. M.E. loves the music at both churches. She always claps and dances during the songs. I'm very grateful that they take her to church. That is what I want.
During the summertime, we work on Sundays. Which I HATE with a passion. But that is when people go to the lake, on the weekends. On December 1, we switched our hours to being closed Sundays and Mondays. Thank you, Jesus! I could finally go to church. And I have.
The other Sunday, mom had kept M.E. that weekend, but I decided to go to South Henderson's 11 oclock service. I knew Cindy prob wouldn't be there because she had been very sick all week, so I found Mamma Dot and sat with her. Usually I don't know alot of the songs they sing at South Henderson. I like them. I just don't know all of them. Well, the Choral Anthem was a rendition of Amazing Grace. It was beautiful! I wish I could find a youtube video of it or something to share. But it was great! The 2nd song I knew was Holy, Holy, Holy. Which we sang that everytime we did communion at Union Grove (which is the 1st sunday of every month). The 3rd song was during the Sermon. Pastor Frank started singing it acapello. He has a wonderful voice! It was "Draw me Nearer".
I really felt as tho God was saying "Its ok. Its ok to go to South Henderson. You can learn from this place. You can grow here. Listen to what I'm trying to tell you." I've been so afraid to accept South Henderson because I was scared it would replace Union Grove. But I realized that NOTHING will ever replace Union Grove. EVER. Union Grove has a place in my heart that is permenant, and very special to me.
After I realized that, a weight had really lifted off of me! I have really debated over the past 5 years whether to find another church here in Henderson, or just stay here. Mamma Dot's grandparents were founders of this church. So it runs very deep in her side of the family. Cindy has gone there since she was very little. I told them not long after Joe and I got married that I didn't want to go to South Henderson because they went to South Henderson. I wanted to go there because I knew that is where God Needed and wanted me to be. And they understood. But I guess its just taken this long for me to realize what God wants is for me to be there.
That same Sunday I went to HIllsborough to pick up M.E. and we went over to Union Grove to play on the playground. We ate dinner with the Youth Group and hung out a while. I saw Rich and told him pretty much what is in this post. He was very supportive (which I didn't expect any different from him!)and told me he could relate.
Its just hard when United Methodist is all I've ever known! But now that I know South Henderson is where God wants me right now, I'm very willing to learn and to share my gifts he's given me there, just like I have for the past 25 years at Union Grove :D
