I'm a terrible blogger.

That is all. I just am.

I sit infront of the computer almost 7 days a week on most weeks. And still don't blog like I want to. Ugh.

I'll try to do better, but won't promise anything. :o)

Thankful Thursdays

Today, I'm thankful for my job.

I've been complaining (mostly to myself) alot lately about my job. And have been pretty negative. And despite the fact that I'm not always loving my job. I have one. A steady one. And get to work with people who love me.

State Fair :)

A few pics from the state fair last tuesday :)

We met Mandy there and waited for a while...
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Then we tried some apple cider for the first time when Mandy got there
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

She didn't like it too much!

Auntie M showed M.E. the Goats in the FFA Children's Barnyard
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

We walked around for a while and found a funnel cake!!!
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Then we watched people milk the cows :) I was so temped to pay the $2.00 to do it, just for kick. But figured I'd done it before, didn't need to pay to do it again
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I don't know about everyone else, but I ALWAYS make it a point to go by the pickle place and buy a pickle! Well, M.E. LOVED it. LOVED it, I say! She would eat any I would give her. She hated the apple cidar, but loved the pickle. HAHA.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

After the pickle, we walked around for a while, and finally decided to get some "real" food. We got a hot dog from the Methodist Church resturant. M.E. slept almost the whole time we were in there. She got a good little nap in. When she woke up, we took a few pics:

After walking around much more, it was about time for Auntie M to go to work, so we headed out. This pic was taken outside the entrance at the 4-H displays.

Then a nice man, who parked beside me took our picture when we got out to my car!

After leaving Auntie M, we went to Babies R Us, then dinner with Aunt MeMe and Uncle Jake
I love this picture of them!

Every Traveled Road

So, ovbiously, I changed my blog and URL.

I bought the new Amy Grant CD not too long ago. The name of the album is Somewhere Down the Road. I LOVE this CD. LOVE LOVE LOVE. I listen to it over and over again in my car and could listen to it 1,000 more times. I usually don't buy CDs and havn't in years. But the 1st song on this album is called Better than a Hallelujah. I heard it on KLOVE when it first came out and fell in love with it. The first lyric goes like this :

God loves a lullaby
In a mothers tears in the dead of night
Better than a Hallelujah sometimes.

Talking about straight to the heart! I could SOOO relate. I had bought Amy Grant's cracker barrell CD a while ago. Several years ago. Its a CD of Hymns that she loved growing up as a child. I play that CD over and over and over again. So I had a feeling I was going to love this CD as well. Well, I was right!

One of my favoriate songs on this new CD is called Every Road. Here are the lyrics:

There you go makin' mountains out of such a little hill
Here I go mixin' mortar for another wall to build
There's a struggle in this life we lead it's partly you it's partly me

But every road that's traveled teaches something new
And every road that's narrow pushes us to choose
And I'd be lyin' if I said, "I had not tried to leave a time or two"
But every road that leads me, leads me back to you

Here we stand in the middle of what we've come to know
It's a dance, it's a balance, holding on and letting go
But there is nothing that we can't resolve
When love's at stake, when love's involved

'Cause every road that's traveled teaches something new
And every road that's narrow pushes us to choose
And I'd be lyin' if I said, "I had not tried to leave a time or two"
But every road that leads me, leads me back to you

Every road that's traveled teaches something new
And every road that's narrow pushes us to choose
And I'd be lyin' if I said, "I had not tried to leave a time or two"
(Time or two)
And every road that leads me, leads me back to you

Every road that leads me, leads me back to you
Every road leads more, leading me back to you
Leading me back to you

I kept wanting to find something to name my blog. I thought and thought and though and just couldn't come up with anything original. But this song just touched me. Every road we travel teaches us something new. But it keeps leading me back to you (God).

I highly recommend this CD to anyone who need a little bit of God touching them in a song. Its so powerful what God can do.

Loosing Faith

I hate loosing faith in someone I once trusted.

Someone I enjoyed. Someone I trusted. I hate discovering that they did something to loose that faith and trust. Ugh. She may even read this, and that is ok.

This situation completly changes the view I have on her. I used to feel sorry for her, to a certain extent. But I have no sympathy for people who steal.

I was raised to be honest. Completly and totally honest. And I try everyday to be honest. If I lie, it eats me alive! I can be nothing but honest. Something that is not mine, I do not take! Period! It just really frustrates me that someone stooped that low to steal something that was not theirs, more than once, right under my nose. Because I trusted them, I didn't see it. I did suspect it for a long time. But I do not dare accuse someone of that without proof. Without being 100% sure. Well now I'm 100% sure and do have proof. But, what is done is done. And I don't have to deal with that person anymore, thankgoodness. I don't want to be associated with someone who makes those kind of choices.

Ok. Vent over. Thanks for reading!

A Bump on the Head...More or Less

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

So, If you get squirmy, perhaps this post isn't for you.

My Labor Day weekend was no so great. Well...Friday was actually very nice.
Friday night, Joe, Jeff and I went out on the new Centurion and attempted to Wake Surf. Yep, you read that right. Wake Surf. Evidently its the new "thing". So, we thought we'd try it out. Joe and Jeff did great. I've never really gotten up on the Wakeboard, so I just practiced getting up on the board. It was easier than I thought, but still pretty hard to stay up. I got the hang of it tho.

Here are some pics:

It was actually a really good time. We came back and spent the night at the Lake House (EVEN JEFF!!!) and all was very relaxing and nice. Saturday morning we drove the boat back to the marina. Nice ride into work, if I do say so myself! Joe left his truck parked down by the boat ramp so we could ride the truck back up to the showroom instead of walking. So when I got out of the boat, I had my purse, my overnight bag, my lunch bag and a trash bag from the lakehouse all in my arms. So instead of unloading it and then loading it all back in my arms, I just decided to hop on the tailgate back up to the marina. Well, I let it down and kinda just plopped up on there and didn't schooch all the way back like I should have. Jeff decided to walk up there. If you've never been to our Marina, we're talking about 100 yards to our showroom, through the parkinglot. So its not out on the main road, or going very far at all. Morningstar's parkinglot is a gravel lot. Our parking lot is a paved lot. So right as Joe got onto the paved part. He "goosed" the throttle. When I say this, is sounds aweful, but he literally tapped it. He didn't speed up, it was honestly an accident. At first, I didn't fall off. And if anyone has ever had anything like this happen, they can tell you, it almost seems in slow motion because you are thinking 1,000 different thoughts all really fast. At first, I was like....I got this! But then I fell on my but. And honestly, I didn't have my hands free to catch myself or hang onto the tailgate. I still may have fallen, it may have even been worse, who knows. But my hands were still holding onto the bags (I never let go of those bags tho! LOL)When my butt hit, I thought...ok....I can deal with this. I'll have a sore butt, but oh well. I got plenty of cushion! hah. Well in that next split second my head slammed back (since the truck was moving forward) and it hit the pavement. I got the worst tingly sensation over my whole body. I started screaming. I just knew I was paralyzed. I coudln't move anything at first. Jeff got to me first, then quickly Joe got there. Joe told me to stop screaming. Once I did, I realized I could move my arms and legs and knew that my head and neck was hurt. So I quickly told him to call someone please. So he did. He called 911 and then we just waited. Joe knew I was bleeding and I guess he didn't want me to know how much I was bleeding. We have a good customer, Mr Cory that keeps his boat at he marina. He walked up right after it happened and looked down and said...Man Joe, she's really bleeding alot! Haha I had to chuckle. I just thought it was funny. I'm sure other people it may have freaked out, but not me. As soo as the EMT got there, he checks my vitals, as best he could. My BP was good, my HR was good, pulse ox was good. Once the ambulance got there, a few minutes later, they put me in the neck brace and on the back board thingy. I just was so worried something was wrong, so I didn't wanna move my head or neck at all. They rode me to Halifax Regional Hospital in Roanoke Rapids, which took about 20 mins or so. We got there right before 10 AM sometime.

Once we got to the hospital, the nurses came in and took my stats again, then the doc was right in. We really didn't have to wait long at all. He ordered some xrays and a CT on my head. They came and did the xrays first of my lower back. That came back fine, and no fractures or anything in my tailbone. They then took me to the CT. At this point, I still had not sat up. I needed to sit up to get in the CT machine. Whoa, that was scary. At this point we still didn't know if everything was ok in my noggin. Well, then CT went fine and we went back to the ER room. They said it would take about 20 mintues for the test to come back. Well, the Doc didn't want to take off my hard colar until the results came back. So this whole time I'm TOTALLY uncomfortable! But rather be safe than sorry! So the doc comes in during that 20 mins and says....Just checkin on you! I havn't forgotten about you...still waiting on the results. I thought that was very nice he came in.

Finally they came in and said everything was great on the CT!!! YAY!!!! What a relief!!! So they they finally took off that stupid neck colar. Then they just had to clean up my wound on the back of my head and staples me up. When the nurse came in to clean me up....WOWZERS....she was like scrubbing in my wound. Hurt so bad. I started boo-hooing and she finally said...we're going to have to numb it up before we clean it up then! DUH! They gave me 2 percacets then waited about 15 minutes for them to kick in. Then the doc came in with a big-A** needles and numbed up my scalp. Evidently, the scalp is the hardest thing in the body to numb. And sure enough....lol....he had to numb it up more than he thought. He cleaned it up fine, put in staple number 1...then staple number 2....yep, more numbing...staple number 3...more numbing....then he finished it up.
Here is a pic of it before the staples:

Here is some pics of it after the staples!

And a beautiful picture of how my hairstyle was the rest of the day...lol

We walked out of the ER around 1 pm!!

and P.S. Percoset is not my friend :( made me terribly sick.

I keep the staples in for 10 days, then I'm good to go!

Thank you for all the prayers! God was definatly watching out for me and we're all very thankful to him that it wasn't any worse than it was! And I'm also thanking him for a hard head. lol
