Deck Renovation!

Summer is HERE! Finally!

As most of you know, we have an above ground pool in our back yard with a deck all the way around it.

Of course, during all this baby business, we realized we need to make some improvements of the deck needed to be made.

Here are a few pics of what the deck looked like when we first bought the house (and the pool too!)




Mike Pendly, who works for us at the Marina is also a carpenter. A very good carpenter. One saturday after work, Mike and a guy who works with him came and fixed our deck. It took them a day and a half to do all this work! They put a new top rail all the way around the deck. They put in the new railing, a new gate, replaced some deck boards, replaced some spokes, and put handrails up on the steps! It looks awesome! We just have to stain the deck, which we are going to wait til the fall to do that, after we cover the pool back up. Here are a few pics!





We love it! Looks SOOO much better. And now when M.E. gets a little bigger, she can go out on the deck and we don't have to worry about her falling in the pool. (Until she's big enough to open the gate!)
